For those who don't know us – let's start from the beginning: We are located on the Latzfonser/Villanderer Alm and can be easily reached from both villages. There are different paths that lead to us. Some are very easy to manage, and pushing a stroller is no problem, others are quite a challenge. But there are many more. Further down, we have listed all options.
As our overnight guests, you are also allowed to drive all the way up by car.
1) The comfortable Option A:
Start: Villanders parking lot (exact location available on our "Getting here" page)
Walking time: approx. 1.5 hours | Elevation gain: approx. 300 m | Difficulty: easy
Highlights: stroller-friendly, perfect for a family hike with young children
2) Or the moderately difficult Option B:
From Villanders via the Totenkirchl and Totenrücken to Stöffl
Start: Villanders parking lot (exact location available on our "Getting here" page)
Walking time: approx. 3 hours | Elevation gain: approx. 510 m | Difficulty: medium
Highlights: Totensee (Dead Lake), mystical chapel, panoramic paths
3) Or the challenging Option C:
Start: directly in the village center of Villanders (more details available on our "Getting here" page)
Walking time: approx. 4.5 – 5.5 hours | Elevation gain: approx. 1,200 m
Tip: An overnight stay at our hut is the perfect way to recharge!
In winter, you can enjoy a sled ride down this trail starting from the Gasserhütte!
Start: Kaseregg parking lot
Walking time: approx. 1 hour | Elevation gain: approx. 180 m | Difficulty: easy
A wide alpine trail (no. 15) leads up to the Jochalm cheese dairy. From there you can choose to continue on trail no. 15 or take trail no. 15A. Both lead to us.
Highlights: gentle trails, alpine idyll, perfect for a family hike with young children
Just below Kaseregg (Öbersthof in Latzfons), you can sled the rest of the trail!
Start: Pemmern parking lot (exact location available on our "Getting here" page)
Walking time: approx. 5 - 5.5 hours | Elevation gain: 880 m | Difficulty: medium
Highlight: panoramic views, expansive view over the Villanderer Alm.
Start: Reinswald valley station parking lot
Walking time: approx. 2.5 hours | Elevation gain: 570 m | Difficulty: medium

Our opening hours:
The hut is open daily from 07:30 AM to 10:00 PM.
Breakfast: from 07:30 AM to 10:00 AM (also for external guests – please book in advance)
Hot lunch service: until 3 PM; afterwards, cold dishes (cakes, Kaiserschmarrn & more)
Abendessen: 7 PM (nur für Übernachtungsgäste oder auf Anmeldung)
